Candy - sweet or sour ?

Candy: Sour plum encased in a sugar-molasses-type sweet

Offered after a Thai meal, while we were in Taiwan - to refreshen the breath (too much garlic?) and cleanse the palates perhaps? But I think there are better options of candies around to do that ? -_-

Some Chinese like to put sour plums in their Chinese liqueur. I'm not a fan of these plums but have family members that go nuts over them.. They say "Kai-wei".

it must be salty-sour... Am not a big fan of preserved plums either.

Have a happy PH!

These candies were SUPER popular when I was in high school, growing up in Hawaii. Seeing the photo brings back so many memories!

I would never had put that two together. I haven't had sour plums in a long time. I used to eat them as a kid.

I wonder if I would have the courage to try it! Is it a soft candy or a hard sweet?

Your photo is wonderful.

I always bring back a huge bag of these addictive candies from Malaysia.
They start off sweet and then sweet and sour. In the end you just suck on the sour and salty plum. Yum!!!!

Hi. Thanks for visiting my blog. I refreshed your site a few times but I can't see the photo. I have no idea why. Anyway, it sounds like an interesting kind of plum.

I could eat a sour plum on its own but not with anything else.

I have tried sour plum once, twice...before. I didn't develop much tatse for it although I did try to like it. I wonder how it tastes like with the sugar coating.

I used to have it when I was a teenager - my mom used to buy a full bag of it. I like the sourness more... :P
