Some unscrupulous vendor do that so it can preserve longer. If you see that the berries are yellowish, don't eat them raw. Wash or soak. aiyahhh... better don't buy that.<BR/><BR/>I just pop them into my mouth, no need to wash. But I have to freeze them or else they rot due to no preservative. <BR/><BR/>I got my berries from an old (more than 100 years of history) medical shop in Hong Lim.
