This Siglap kway chap in found in Siglap. I don't know the exact address of this corner coffeeshop in which the stall is located. It's beside a "long kang" (big drain), and to the right of the drain, is Siglap Center. This Siglap kwey chap stall is found in this corner coffeeshop to the left of the drain. Oh, please don't associate kwey chap with drain ok? But I do know not everyone will like this dish. I have no special liking for this dish, except just once in a while. Siglap kway chap - their kway chap ingredients smell and tasted "fresh" and good, well-prepared. and well-cooked. Another YUM!

Aiyo Tiga, it looks like the broadband in Singapore is really hi-speed, so many shiokalicious good food you posted...I am tercacat here and wait for my pictures to upload (even to open a site!). Cry cry.
ReplyDeleteRM, aiya...I just snap snap snap, then come back to CA and post lah! Not even sure the actual broadband speed in S'pore is fast or not :O
ReplyDeleteYou back in Penang ? I saw the food you had in KL. Made me very hungry, esp. the chicken wings.:O~~~~
Envy you have a chance to meet fellow bloggers in KL and together have such a fabulous feast.
Tigerfish,
ReplyDeleteYou know now that you keep talking about the drain, all I can think about is the drain right? :)
Hey, since you're Teo Chew/Trieu Chau, what characterizes the cuisine? 'Cause someone posted a picture of a Teo Chew dumpling and I asked him what made it Teo Chew (as opposed to Cantonese dim sum) and he said it was just the name of the dumpling. I don't think he knew the answer. :P Or maybe he didn't even know Teo Chew was a region of Guangdong!
OMG, this was like my #1 favorite dish as a kid. My parents won't let me eat too much of it cos' I was FAT.
ReplyDeleteI *heart* kuay chap!!
If I come to LA, can you cook some for me????
Oops, wandering chopsticks, I assure you it does not smell or taste anything like the drain. It's good!
ReplyDeleteUh-oh, I'm not really sure what characterizes a Teochew dish. I think they did a better job in describing.
For Teochew dumpling, I'm cannot be too sure since I did not see the picture but there're Teochew dumplings(or kueh) that typically contains turnips/bamboo shoots, black fungus and dried shrimps (the dumpling fillers).
Ming Merciless, maybe they are your parents' fav too, tt'y why they said that! :O LOL! You know, parents used to tell lil' kids that eating fish roe(eggs) will make them score badly (zeros) in Maths (zeros look like eggs) so that kids will not eat them and adults can eat all of them. :O
ReplyDeleteIf you come to LA, I can't cook for you since I'm not there. I'm nearer San Francisco, @ Silicon Valley.:D
And also the truth...I can't cook kueh chap!!!! :O ...perhaps other dishes?
