Got this pink shrimps, thinking that they can be an alternative or replacement to those Chinese dried shrimps.I was wrong. The flavors are poles apart, even a different unami taste to each type.
Now, I need to think how to use these Korean dried shrimps even though I have no problems at all coming up with different recipes with Chinese dried shrimps. :O
Wonder if I did the right thing by soaking them in water. But that's how I "treat" those Chinese dried shrimps
Different from the Chinese dried shrimps, this came with shrimps feelers - almost exactly like a real shrimp shrunk so tiny!

I believe I had it once before -- deep fried and tossed in syrup and chilli flakes. It's crispy and slight meaty.
ReplyDeleteI saw them at the asian market, and they looked like body-building haebee to me! ;)
ReplyDeleteAre they less dense than Chinese dried shrimp? Maybe they're just for snacking?
ReplyDeleteming, :O .....deep-fried?! Oops! I need to do that?! I know mini-tiny-crabs done deep fried tossed in syrup and chilli flakes...
ReplyDeletebut...this. OKie, I will try! Thanks, man!
east meets west, hahahahhah! But I think haebee more muscles leh!
wandering chopsticks, yes...can't escape you huh! The chinese dried shrimps are definitely denser.
Snacking...? Yep! I'm starting to think of this possibility now but I need to deep-fry them :(
Never had this before, so dunno leh. But sure looks more like a mini shrimp. Deep-fry sounds good though.
ReplyDeletelittle corner, impulse buying leh! Sigh. And somemore cheaper than the haebee. But I still prefer haebee!
ReplyDeleteI've never had this b4 either. Looks very nice though. Maybe can chop them up & use it like haebee?? hehe...
