Test your Internet speed

I find slow connection problems with my internet lately. I just had an Internet Speed Test done and the download speed at my computer is 1303kbps-162.9 KB/sec transfer rate, and upload speed is 308 kbps. Now I can use these diagnostic data to verify with my service provider if I'm getting the bandwidth and speed that I am supposed to get. Have your internet been behaving well?

  1. Looks like a nifty tool. But I just tried it twice on my office PC and got these results both times:

    Download: 0 kbps (0 kBps)
    Upload: 455 kbps (56.9 kBps)

    Strange hor?

I always cannot load Wikipedia's pages on my home PC. Will test out my home PC tonight.

  2. These few weeks, the day after the earthquake, the internet seems a bit sluggish.

Dont know why also, wonder if it's related....

  3. Hey ... thanks for the link! I am in the mist of reconstructing with my service provider. Now I can safely tell him off that their plan is a rip off!

1046 kbps (down) and 273 (up) for me. I thought I have a 3Mbps plan.

  6. Friend you can check your speed here http://www.ip-details.com/internet-speed-test/..
After that you follow the instructions:
    1. make sure your logged on as actually "Administrator". do not log on with any account that just has administrator privileges.
    2. start - run - type gpedit.msc (not available in home version)
    3. expand the "local computer policy" branch
    4. expand the "administrative templates" branch
    5. expand the "network branch"
    6. Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" in left window
    7. in right window double click the "limit reservable bandwidth" setting
    8. on setting tab check the "enabled" item
9.where it says "Bandwidth limit %" change it to read 0

Again you check your speed using the http://www.ip-details.com/internet-speed-test/ & see the difference..
