Pepper Jelly - the rainbow connection, Sonoma Farm Trail

The photos in this post has been deleted due to Shutterfly's bug! :(

Well, I was supposed to look at cheeses in a cheese shop but instead distracted by these colorful bottled jellies at Marin Cheese Factory in Petaluma, CA. These assorted pepper jellies sound hot, sweet, spicy, fruity, peppery and savory.

I'm new to jellies. Are jellies the same as jam?

Jalapeño Pepper Jelly and Marioberry Pepper Jelly

I was so fascinated and confused by all the varieties and finally, decided not to buy any and ended up with a small block of cheese instead. The cheese tasting station at the cheese shop even had some cranberry pepper jelly slathered on top of of Brie. I tried them on crackers, and the savory Brie really gel well with the subtly sweet-tangy- peppery cranberry pepper jelly. What a colorful treat!

  3. The first and only time I had pepper jelly was at a wedding reception in college. It was served over a block of Philly cream cheese and crackers. And it was delicious.

Hmmm...I wish I could get some pepper jelly now.

  4. Pepper Jelly on Chicken Breasts with goat cheese is where it is at. Bake(roast) Chicken breasts with the goat cheese and jelly on top at 350F for 27-30 minutes. You can switch up the jelly to anything you want (blackberry works really well). No sugar added is recommended

  5. i actually read somewhere that of you pick any cheese and any jam/jelly..they go together very well.
especially if u make it the way you make a grilled cheese sandwich.

  6. This reminds me of when I went to the mustard museum in Wisconsin. They had champagne mustard, chocolate mustard, beer mustard. :)

  10. I love pepper jellies. Try some on crab cakes.

I think jams have more of the actual fruit solids in them.
