Deep-Fried Fish Skin 炸鱼皮


How about some fish chips for you? These are Deep Fried Fish Skin! Yes, skin only.


In Hong Kong, some of the fishball/fishcake noodle stores serve deep fried fish skins, and you can actually enjoy these fish "chips" with the noodle soups :)

  8. I have to agree. I may be more tempted to try these if the fish skins were pre-made. Hmmm...what would you suggest for the noodle soup stock? Are the deep fried fish skins Healthy? where can I find a recipe. Oh you, now I have all kinds of questions and my mouth is wishing for the taste right now...

  11. More and more restaurants serving this dish I realise. The very first time I got served this in a basket, I thought it was karopok :P

    In Jakarta, I found deep-fried chicken skin sold at hypermarts and supermarkets. Apparently a popular snack there. :)

  15. You can get this in different flavours in packages that are similar in appearance to potato chips. Love the stuff...positively addictive! And I'm pretty sure it's unhealthy too!
    I also had freshmade ones in a HK-style restaurant in Melb. recently.

  19. Eh, I love fried fish skin..fish tail..fish fins! When I was little (er..and still do that when I visit home) and if there is a plate of fried fish on the table before dinner time. Hah! By the time it's dinner time, that plate of fish only has the flesh left on it. Oh, and head.

    My grandpa used to do this fried fish skin for noodle soup also! Oh yum.

  21. deep fried fish skin is a delicious dish by itself. I also deep fried salmon skin whenever I can get them. Sun dried the skin before deep fry them, lovely!
