Garlic-Steamed Broccoli

This Garlic-Steamed Broccoli is the precursor of another dish I was trying to prepare for the first time using the ingredient I have used many times. Sounds mysteriously confusing. I know.
Garlic-Steamed Broccoli with thinly sliced garlic, broccoli and some diced tomatoes, steamed for 8-10 minutes till cooked.
Amongst these three ingredients, tomatoes' lycopene is maximally extracted when cooked longer with heat (and oil); however, broccoli and garlic should not be cooked too long in order to tap the nutrients and benefits.
For me, broccoli steamed for 8 minutes almost always works perfectly. The star is the broccoli - so while I "optimized" that, the other two ingredients became supporting roles/functions naturally flavoring the broccoli. Then, pinch of sea salt and ground white pepper to taste.
Easy summer cooking
I don't think you know the next dish I am creating with this, do you? Even if not incorporated into another dish, this Garlic-Steamed Broccoli can be enjoyed perfectly with steamed rice or plain porridge (congee), or as a side with grilled fish or chicken.
I enjoy perfectly steamed broccoli. How do you like yours?
