Broccoli, Cabbage, Chicken Salad Bowl

Eating well does not have to be complicated. Such Veggies and Chicken Main-Dish Salad Bowls do not need further introduction - making regular appearances at our meal table and our fuss-free way to eating well. I've prepared this many times yet not bored of it; on the contrary, I'm kept excited every time, looking forward to the variety of vegetables that can be put together each time.

Using everyday budget-friendly ingredients e.g. broccoli and cabbage that are available all-year-round, this Broccoli, Cabbage and Chicken Bowl is easy to prepare, healthy and delicious - just like many other veggies and chicken main-dish salad bowl variations.

Broccoli, Cabbage and Chicken Bowl
Ingredients:
2 cups broccoli florets
2-3 cups bite-size cabbage pieces
1/2 cup bell peppers
1/4-1/2 cup leftover cooked chicken breast, shredded/sliced (leftover rotisserie chicken - always a great choice!)
1/2 hard-boil egg

Directions: Using single-tier steamer (similar to this multi-tier steamer), steam veggies and leftover chicken for 5 mins (Note: I steam vegetables quite a lot, almost everyday. It's an easy and fuss-free method of preparation/cooking and maintains vegetables' nutrients (if we don't over-steam, over-cook it). Layer cooked vegetables and chicken in serving bowl and top with cooked egg.
