Making the Best

Making the Best

Contributed by Johnny Graves

The winter storm was more than anyone had expected. It blew in hard and fast and without mercy. We had eight inches of snow in four hours and the world outside seemed to come to a complete stop. When we woke up the next morning, the house was cold and eerily quiet. The power was out and we needed a fire. The kids all huddled in the living room around dad’s fire and waited for the lights to come on. Hours passed and finally the power was up and running but we were not. The lazy morning quickly turned into a lazy afternoon. My husband logged onto http://www.tvbydirect.com/ and ordered a PPV for us to enjoy. I made a big pot of chili and announced that this day would be filled with good memories and good food. Besides, in this area of the country, we may never ever see this much snow again so why not make the best of it! Even the dog was eager to be lazy and loving all day long.
