Hazelnut Oats Energy Balls Nutella-Inspired

Practice makes perfect. Such a comment made after my first attempt making these energy bars. However, since I made these No-Bake Protein Bars (far from perfect, texture-wise), I have not tried making them again, until today.

Today is the day. The day for some homemade energy bites, especially after T passed me some of her homemade peanut butter and chocolate chips energy snacks after our workout session. Thank you, T!

Now, I am "motivated" to make my own homemade energy bites ONE MORE TIME! Not just ONE MORE TIME, but THREE! Yes, practice makes perfect, hopefully.

The first "flavor" will be these Nutella-Inspired Energy Balls.

Nutella-inspired because this organic hazelnut spread has been sitting in the pantry. waiting to be utilized in other ways besides using it as a regular spread. Basically, I am just using whatever is available in my pantry to make these energy balls so that I don't get bogged down by having to get new ingredients.

Nutella-Inspired Hazelnut Oats Energy Balls/Snack Bites
makes about 10-12 bite-size balls

Ingredients:
1 cup quick oats
4-5 tbsp nut butter (Once Again Organic Hazelnut Spread)
2 tbsp flaxmeal + 4 tbsp water, mix water with flaxmeal (acts as a "binder")
1/3 cup mixture of raw cacao nibs + assorted nuts pieces (sliced almonds, cashew pieces, pumpkin seeds)

Directions: Mix oats with nut butter, start kneading with your palms just like kneading a dough. Slowly add flaxmeal + water mixture, and continue kneading. The flaxmeal+ water will help to bind the dough. Mix in the raw cacao nibs and assorted nut pieces into the oats-mixture and continue to knead till a huge ball forms, then make smaller balls out of this.

Out of curiosity if you are interested, these energy bites are relatively low-calorie, high in fiber (oats), good source of protein and good fats (nut butter and nuts). It is approximately about 30 calorie, 2g protein for each bite-size ball.
